The exposed brick wall says it all before you’ve even sat down. This is a flat with bones — the kind of historic character that can’t be manufactured, only uncovered. An electric fireplace glows against the brick while a dark leather sofa and olive velvet chair invite you to settle in and stay a while. A wrought iron chandelier overhead completes the picture: somewhere between a city loft and a Scottish hunting lodge, and entirely comfortable being both.

The kitchen carries the flat’s personality through to its deep navy blue accent wall, where a framed botanical bird print hangs above open shelving lined with wine glasses — the kind of detail that makes you want to pour something and lean against the counter.

The bedroom is where the tartan makes its full entrance: floor-to-ceiling plaid wallpaper behind a tufted charcoal headboard, warm brass lamps on either side, and a navy throw across crisp white linens. It’s cozy without trying too hard.
